Make one piece specific to its wearer

Start with the person who will wear the hoodie. Think about their preferred shape and the outfits already in their wardrobe. A personal message does not compensate for a sleeve length or body fit they dislike. If the order is for you, use a hoodie you enjoy wearing as the measurement reference.

For someone else, confirm the necessary measurements or involve them in selecting the size. A surprise is less useful when it depends on guessing. Do not rely on a later size change for an item that has already been personalised.

Prepare the exact wording

Write names, initials or dates exactly as you want them reviewed, including capitalisation and punctuation. Put the final text on its own line in the enquiry so it cannot be confused with the explanation around it. If there are two alternatives, label them as alternatives rather than allowing the team to guess.

For artwork, describe the source and confirm that you have permission to use it. Ask which file format is needed and how to send it; the contact form may not provide an attachment field. A clear reference helps discussion but does not establish that every small detail can be reproduced.

Keep the design appropriate to the garment

Consider whether the idea should be subtle or prominent and where it should appear when the hoodie is worn normally. The hood, pocket and folds may affect visibility. Request a placement explanation or preview if the team offers one, and ask about the selected production method.

A product photograph shows the catalogue garment. It is not a proof of your custom design. Review the proposed decoration separately, particularly the spelling, orientation, size and position.

Confirm the one-piece quotation

State quantity as one in the first message. Ask whether there is any minimum order requirement for the requested method and whether setup, artwork or delivery changes the total. Do not assume the standard product price includes the extra work.

Explain whether there is a fixed occasion date and provide the destination. If the team cannot meet the date or design brief, resolve that before payment. Keep the approved brief and confirmation together so later questions refer to the same version.

Send a concise first message

A useful enquiry can say: “I would like to enquire about one personalised hoodie. Product reference: [link]. Size and colour: [choice]. Requested wording or design: [details]. Preferred placement: [area]. Delivery PIN code: [code]. Required arrival date: [date, if relevant]. Please confirm feasibility, total cost and next steps.”
