True Cost Calculator: Budget vs Chaze Fit Gym Gear Over 1 Year

The upfront price of gym gear rarely tells the full story — a ₹250 gym bag that tears at the eyelet within 6-11 weeks can cost more over a year than an ₹899 bag that survives 12+ months. Below is an interactive calculator using Chaze Fit's own testing data (replacement cycles observed during product development, not generic estimates) so you can see the real 12-month cost of budget vs correctly-specified gear across the categories that fail fastest.

Why This Math Usually Gets Skipped
Sticker price is what you see at checkout. Replacement frequency is what you experience over the following year, and it's the number most people never actually calculate. A ₹300 water bottle sounds cheaper than a ₹649 one — until you're buying the ₹300 bottle 6-7 times a year because odour buildup or physical wear makes it unusable, at which point the "cheap" option costs more in total.
Where This Data Comes From
These aren't industry averages or estimates — they're drawn from Chaze Fit's own product development testing: eyelet failure timing on gym bags under 2.3kg daily loading, GSM transparency thresholds on vests tested under fluorescent gym lighting, and headband saturation timing across 60 non-AC gym sessions. Founder Note
I built this calculator because I got tired of the conversation always starting and ending at sticker price. Nobody budgets for the fourth headband they'll buy this year — they just buy it when the third one stretches out, and it never gets counted as part of the "real" cost. Once you actually add up replacement cycles, the math changes the decision for most people, not because premium is always better, but because the sticker price genuinely isn't the full price.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is cheap gym wear actually cheaper over a year?
Often no. Budget gym wear typically fails faster and needs replacing more often - a plastic water bottle replaced every 6-8 weeks can cost more over a year than one properly specified bottle bought once.
2. Which category has the worst true cost when bought cheap?
Water bottles, based on Chaze Fit's own testing data - the shortest replacement cycle of any common gym category.
3. Where does this calculator's data come from?
Chaze Fit's own product testing - eyelet failure timing, GSM transparency thresholds, saturation timing, and reported replacement cycles gathered during development.
