Mesh-Lined Shorts Fit: Waist, Inner Layer and Pocket Comfort

At a glance: Check the outer shorts and inner liner as two separate parts of the fit. Chaze Fit Sports Shorts have a built-in mesh liner, four-way stretch and an adjustable waist, so tightening the drawstring will not resolve every liner-fit problem.

The waist is only the first checkpoint when choosing lined shorts. The outer shell, liner and pocket contents all move with you, and each can create a separate issue. A drawstring may hold the waist securely while the inner fabric still pulls through the thigh. Extra room in the shell does not necessarily mean more room in the liner.

Identify the component that causes discomfort rather than calling the whole garment too tight or too loose. That makes your comparison more precise and helps you request the right measurement. It also prevents an unnecessary adjustment, such as tightening a comfortable waistband to compensate for an inner-layer problem.

Evaluate the complete garment, not one size label

Start with shorts you own and list what works: waistband position, outer length, inner coverage and pocket access. Then identify the feature you want to change. Look for an interior photograph when comparing another pair. Mesh describes a construction, but does not establish the liner’s exact shape or a compression rating.

Consider the items you carry. Pocket depth does not describe its opening, angle or closure, so a numerical depth alone cannot guarantee secure phone storage. Decide whether you need to carry a phone during every exercise or whether a locker or separate holder would work better. Keeping storage separate from fit prevents a pocket preference from pushing you toward unsuitable waist or leg measurements.

Drawstring adjustment

The drawstring adjusts the waistband, not the liner’s shape or length. Check room through the hips and thighs as well as the waistband before deciding on size.

Integrated and separate inner layers

Decide whether you prefer an integrated layer or independently chosen inner shorts. A mesh liner is not automatically compression fabric, and the two arrangements can fit differently.

Coverage in motion

Use your own comfortable shorts to compare sitting, squatting and stepping forward. Note where each layer moves so you can ask for the relevant measurements before ordering.

Phone storage

Compare its dimensions with the pocket information, including the listed 16 cm depth. Pocket depth alone does not guarantee phone security during running or deep squats.

Size-specific inseam

Ask for the inside-leg measurement for the size you plan to order, measured from the crotch seam to the hem. Compare it with shorts you already like; do not assume every size has an identical inseam.

Practical checks before choosing

What you notice What to check
Waist secure, liner pulls Check hip and liner room
Shell fits, inner layer rubs Assess both layers
Phone bounces Review pocket design and storage alternatives
Length information differs Confirm the selected size

Putting the choice into practice

The Chaze Fit shorts combine a mesh liner, stretch fabric and adjustable waist. Those features suit shoppers who prefer an integrated inner layer. Confirm the inside-leg measurement for the size you plan to buy: the description’s single inseam figure and the supplied size-specific chart require clarification. A confirmed dimension is more useful than assuming the same coverage across every available size.
