A hoodie can be worn often, packed for a trip and washed between uses, so a simple care routine helps you avoid preventable mistakes. The key is to start with the care label for the product you own. General advice found online may not fit every cotton fabric, finish, embroidery or colour.
Chaze Fit’s classic and pastel hoodie listings describe 300 GSM cotton brushed fleece. The acid-wash version is a 300 GSM cotton garment with an acid-wash finish and embroidered detail. Check its own page and garment label when caring for it; do not assume every surface and colour should receive an identical treatment.
Prepare the garment before washing
Empty the pockets and close zippers or other fasteners if present. Turn the hoodie inside out as directed on the product listing. Wash it with similar colours and follow the label for water temperature, detergent and cycle. Avoid adding bleach or a strong spot treatment unless the garment instructions specifically permit it.
If you are unsure about a mark, test a permitted cleaning method on a discreet area first or ask for garment-care guidance. Scrubbing an acid-wash panel aggressively can make the local surface look different from the rest. Do not use an unverified solvent or stain-removal hack on a finish you want to preserve.
Check the drying instructions

Caring for larger and longer fleece hoodies
A big or tall size does not create a different washing rule by itself. Follow the fibre, finish and care label for the actual garment. Give a larger hoodie enough room for the permitted washing method rather than cramming it into an overloaded drum. If the label permits machine washing, follow the machine’s load guidance as well as the garment instructions.
After washing, use the drying method on the label and support the garment appropriately. Avoid stretching a wet hoodie to force a different length or using extra heat to shrink it into another size. Check that thicker areas such as the hood, cuffs and pocket are dry before storing it. If you need more sleeve or body length, solve that with measurements before purchase rather than expecting washing to alter the fit predictably.

How to check hoodie fit after washing
Measure the dry garment before its first wash, then repeat once it is fully dry. Lay it flat without stretching and use the same measurement points each time. This records your own garment; it is not a prediction of shrinkage.

If the fit changes unexpectedly after following the label, contact the seller with your measurements, photographs and wash settings. Do not assume stretching or reheating will restore the original fit.
Record the wash method alongside the measurements
For a useful before-and-after record, note the wash date, cycle, water setting, detergent and drying method. Record whether the hoodie was turned inside out and the number of washes completed. Compare measurements only when the garment is fully dry, using the same flat surface and measuring points.
Take an overall photograph and a close-up of the embroidery before washing, then repeat in the same lighting after drying. Record what you observe—such as a changed measurement, a loose thread or a difference in the finish—without assuming the cause. Differences in camera exposure or tape placement can make a comparison misleading.

How often should I wash a fleece hoodie?
Use sweat, odour and visible dirt as practical cues rather than a fixed number of wears. A hoodie worn against sweaty skin may need washing sooner than one worn briefly over a clean shirt.
Does heavyweight fleece mean a hoodie will not shrink?

Can I wash an embroidered hoodie like a plain one?
Follow the instructions for the finished garment, including its decoration. Avoid aggressive scrubbing over embroidery and check the permitted ironing method before applying heat.
