Read the care instructions before the first wash
Check the permitted wash temperature, drying method and any instructions about bleach or ironing. Follow the instructions attached to your garment rather than a generic recommendation for all cotton clothing. If the label and an online description conflict, ask the retailer to clarify.
Do not use a hot wash or dryer as an improvised way to resize sweatpants. You cannot reliably choose which dimensions change or guarantee the result.
Record a useful baseline
Before washing, lay the dry garment flat on a level surface. Do not stretch the fabric or pull the waistband tight. Record the inseam, overall length and flat waistband width using consistent measurement points.
Take a photo of the tape position if you plan to compare later. Measuring from a different point on a curved waistband or cuff can make an apparent change larger than it really is.
After washing and drying according to the label, let the garment rest flat and dry before measuring it again. Use the same surface, tape and measurement points. A wet measurement is not a useful comparison with a dry baseline.

How to calculate a dimension change
Use this formula separately for each measured dimension:
Decrease (%) = (original measurement − final measurement) ÷ original measurement × 100.
For example, a hypothetical inseam of 80 cm that later measures 78 cm has decreased by 2 cm, or 2.5%. These numbers demonstrate the calculation only. They are not measurements of a Chaze Fit garment and are not an expected shrinkage rate.
A negative result indicates an increase rather than a decrease. Do not average the waistband, inseam and overall length into one universal shrinkage claim: they describe different dimensions.

What to do if the fit changes
First repeat the measurement carefully. Then compare your wash and drying method with the care label. Keep photographs and a record of what happened if you contact support. A home comparison can help explain a concern, but it is not a laboratory test or an automatic basis for a return.
