For Indian winter gym-commutes and hill-station travel, a 240 GSM brushed-fleece bomber jacket is the correct layer. Below 240 GSM, nap compresses flat within weeks. Above 300 GSM, not packable. Chaze Fit tested across 42 cold-morning commutes (10-18°C) and a 6-day hill-station trip (8-14°C) — held shape through 25 wash cycles, 450g in size M.

The GSM Balance Point
GSM = fabric density. Brushing lifts inner fibres into a nap that traps air. At 240 GSM, the nap holds loft through 25+ washes. Below 180 GSM, it compresses flat by wash 8-10. Above 300 GSM, won't fit in a gym bag.
Founder Note: Three Bad Winters
Three bad winters. Puffer too bulky. Cotton hoodie soaked up sweat. Windbreaker had zero warmth. The bomber came from wanting one layer for the bike ride, the gym, and the ride home.

How We Solved It
What We Tested
42 cold-morning commutes at 10-18°C, a 6-day Lonavala-Mahabaleshwar trip at 8-14°C, 25 machine-wash cycles, and 500+ YKK zipper open-close cycles.
| Layer | Weight | Warm <15°C? | Packs? | Indoor? |

| Windbreaker | 210g | No | Yes | No warmth |
Design Details
Ribbed collar, cuffs, and hem use a lycra blend that recovered shape through 25 washes. The YKK zipper held through 500+ cycles with zero jams. Two deep front pockets, and a fade-proof print dyed into the fabric rather than printed on top.
Use Cases
Cold-morning gym commute is the primary use case, but it also works standalone for hill-station travel at 8-14°C, and as a post-workout layer in an AC office.
Buying Mistakes
- International-spec puffer — overbuilt for India.
